CANNABINOIDS

Endocannabinoids vs. Phytocannabinoids – What's the Difference?
Endocannabinoids (En·do·can·na·bi·noids)
These are natural chemicals made by your body. They’re part of your
endocannabinoid system (ECS), which helps control things like mood, appetite, pain, and immune response.
Examples:
- Anandamide (AEA): Known as the “bliss molecule” — it helps with mood, appetite, and pain.
- 2-AG: Helps manage inflammation, immunity, and brain reward responses.
Phytocannabinoids (Phyto·can·na·bi·noids)
These are cannabinoids found in the
cannabis plant. They act like endocannabinoids by working with the same receptors in your body.
Examples:
- THC: The one that gets you “high.”
- CBD: Offers therapeutic benefits without the high.
Key Difference:
- Endocannabinoids = made by your body
- Phytocannabinoids = come from the cannabis plant
TERPENES
What Are Terpenes?
Terpenes (ter‧penes) are aromatic compounds found in a variety of plants, including cannabis. They
contribute to the distinctive smells and flavors of different cannabis varieties and are key players in the
“entourage effect,” where they work in synergy with cannabinoids like THC and CBD to enhance or
modulate the overall effects of the plant and consumption experience.
