Frequently Asked Questions
How many scoops of CBD powder should I use when making CBD hot chocolate?
If your goal is to provide 1 complete dose for each serving, we recommend starting with 1 scoop per person, or 5 scoops total (12 mg/scoop). For a lighter touch, add fewer scoops. Since our Water-Soluble CBD Powder is flavorless and mixes easily, more scoops will not affect the taste or texture.
How do I use terpenes in hot drinks?
When cooking with terpenes, it’s very important to dilute and use the recommended quantities (more does not equal better). Terpenes can be diluted by carrier oils, and in this case, the MCT fats in the chocolate and coconut milk. As a general rule of thumb, we recommend using no more than a 1% concentration by volume. This equates to about 1-2 drops per 8 oz.

Healing Ingredients In This Spanish CBD Hot Chocolate
“Spiced Spanish Hot Chocolate is my favorite hot drink that I discovered when visiting my sister in Barcelona – I always get this treat the second I land! I have a very emotional attachment to this hot drink, filled with such wonderful memories…the love of family heals my soul and brings emotional balance to my life.”
This synergistic twist on Carlos’ ultra-rich and creamy Spiced Spanish Hot Chocolate recipe features highly nutritious and antioxidant packed ingredients infused with the healing benefits full-spectrum CBD and linalool terpenes.
Dark Chocolate
To get the most nutrition and healing benefits from chocolate, seek varieties with at least 70% cacao. For example, dark chocolate with cacao content above 70% was shown to be highly nutritious. A 3oz bar contains:
- 9 grams of fiber
- 56% of daily iron
- 75% of daily magnesium
- 75% of daily copper
- 83% of daily manganese
Dark chocolate is also very high in antioxidants and phytonutrients called flavonoids, which have proven to contribute to cancer prevention, weight loss, and heart health. One study even showed that dark chocolate had more antioxidant activity than another other fruits tests – including blueberries and acai berries!
Coconut Milk
Coconut milk is rich in healthy saturated fats called medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs). These fats are more rapidly broken down and absorbed into the body, which makes them a quick energy source and less likely to be stored as fat.
Coconut milk is also a good of vitamins and minerals. In fact, one cup of raw coconut milk contains:
- 11% of daily vitamin C
- 10% of daily folate
- 22% of daily iron
- 22% of daily manganese
- 18% of daily potassium
- 32% of daily copper
- 110% of daily manganese
- 21% of daily selenium
Water-Soluble CBD Powder
Our Golden Apple Cannabis Water-Soluble CBD Powder is a flavorless powder formulated for potency without the frills. Its fast-acting formula is made with nano-emulsified, full-spectrum CBD hemp extract, making it perfect for infusing into sweet and savory dishes (more tips here).
CBD is widely used as a natural remedy for balancing and maintaining:
- Physical wellbeing
- Emotional wellbeing
- Mental wellbeing
- Optimal skin health
- Better sleep
- Immunity support
“The CBD powder – I genuinely love this product because it’s tasteless. I can use it in almost anything, and it won’t change the flavor profile.”
Linalool Terpene
Think of terpenes as even purer forms of essential oils. Terpenes are natural compounds that influence a plant’s aroma, flavor, and physiological effects. They are present in cannabis, as well as many other plants, herbs, and fruits.
Linalool is a floral terpene with spicy notes and an aroma reminiscent of lavender and lily of the valley. It’s commonly found in lavender, mint, laurel, citrus fruits, and cannabis.
Linalool is a powerful terpene for general health – it’s even linked to the production of Vitamin E in the body. It’s other researched benefits include:
- Sleep aid and relaxant
- Mental wellness
- Emotional wellness
- Pain relief
