Frequently Asked Questions
How do I use terpenes in cocktails?
When using terpenes in cocktails, think of it as a type of bitters. It’s very important to dilute and use the recommended quantities (more does not equal better), so be sure to mix well before drinking.
Terpenes can be diluted by alcohol, and as a general rule of thumb, we recommend using no more than a 1% concentration by volume. This equates to about 1-2 drops per 8 oz.
How do I use terpenes in non-alcoholic cocktails?
In this case, we recommend diluting with a carrier like coconut milk/oil (MCTs). Terpenes can also be diluted by plant oils, including olive oil, avocado oil, or coconut oil.
Our friends and family also enjoy adding to sparkling water and other beverages (juice, tea, coffee, etc.). Just be mindful to add no more than 1 drop per each 8oz (1 cup) of volume, as terpenes are very strong and do not mix with water.

Limonene Terpene
Think of terpenes as even purer forms of essential oils. They are natural compounds that influence a plant’s aroma, flavor, and physiological effects.
Limonene is one of the most common terpenes in nature with well-studied anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It’s a citrus terpene with a fresh, sweet aroma and orange peel fragrance. It’s commonly found in citrus fruits like grapefruit, lime, lemon, and orange, as well as cannabis.
Alongside it’s energizing and mood-boosting properties, Limonene is also a proven digestive aid and cholesterol dissolver. It’s been found to relieve heartburn and acid-reflux by coating the esophagus.
Here’s a list of Limonene’s researched applications:
- Focus and mental clarity
- Workout and injury recovery
- Neutralizing heartburn and reducing GERD
- General health and wellness (antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, etc.)
